Lockdown in our small garden patch...

It is the first year our cherry tree has blossomed brightening up our garden.

The good weather continues to hold on. Of course this has made a huge difference to our garden, as you can see our cherry tree has incredibly blossomed this year. It feels so good to sit next to it while having a nice hot drink while enjoying the warm sunshine. We definitely need sun warming up our bodies, known as sunshine vitamin (vitamin D when skin is exposed to sunlight, it makes vitamin D from cholesterol.) which is good for all of us after a long harsh winter indoors.
Lockdown has given us the opportunity to do some gardening over the last few weeks, like watering our plants every other day and searching for small garden creatures.
Tim definitely enjoys hunting for them, specially the slimy ones like snails and worms. He keeps me busy searching for  containers and tools to create his own temporary homes for them. This sort of nature activity kept Tim busy, at least for a while, as he is naturally curious and enjoys doing things independently with his own hands.
We noticed as the good weather continued to hold on, some of our plants were beginning to be eaten by slugs, so what we did we brought our own eco friendly snail traps, child and pet friendly. Our own small plastic containers filled with cheep beer obviously worked.

Another good activity before bedtime, our roof to our shed had become the perfect observation spot. The evenings were warm and the kids thought it was cool to sit comfortably up there and gaze at the sky and see so many stars in the distance.
In fact a few nights ago we were all very puzzled when we all spotted a string of mysterious distant lights fleeting across, one after the other . It was fascinating to see this sort of unusual activity moving around above us in the distance. There seemed no sound. Off course Tim's wild imagination came alive with made up stories about space creatures travelling above us. I kind of got spooked when I thought about UFO's. "Could it be?" I thought to myself, however this sort of activity above continued the following evening while I was busy in the kitchen, on the (21st of April) the kids ran out into the garden and climbed on top of our shed around 9 pm to see if they could spot what they saw a few nights back. This time they knew exactly what it was. My 15 year old daughter found out on the internet, those fast moving lights were not UFO's, in fact they were satellites, part of the Space-X Star link project which provides accessible internet to everyone. Tim's curious eye captured a few of them fleeting across once again. This time he knew what they were. His made up stories were no longer there. Feel free to comment if you happen to have spotted those mysterious moving lights above...
