A fair access to the Pacific Ocean...
Although Bolivia was deeply saddened after a tough veridic was delivered in the Hague. The Chileans got their own way. Well, I wasn't surprised. I can now understand why this has happened coming from a country like Chile. A few months ago I read quite an interesting little article, how Chile's Pacific Ocean is privatised, belonging only to 5 wealthy families in the fishing industry, closely connected to the Chilean government who relies heavily, satisfying only the few. This is typical of a right wing government where status continues to play a big role in Chile with the influence of other powerful governments and businesses around the world. The Chilean government also made it clear, they will not give Bolivia, not one single millimetre of sea. Those are tough words to hear. So much injustice along the way, as I had written in one of my previous posts why Bolivia had to take Chile to court. It's been five long years, the veridic is over... President Evo Morales has made it very clear to Chile, negotiating a fair access to the Pacific Ocean is still open to discussions. Chile knows they have a long pending topic with Bolivia whether it will happen, time will tell...
Although it all seems absolutely impossible for Bolivia to return to the pacific ocean, the Bolivian government continues to move forward exploring other avenues. Personally I take my hat of for our President Evo Morales for taking Chile to court. It's been a cause worth fighting and a brave decision which had to happen if Bolivia was to progress economically.
On a more personal note, examples like this has made me think, sometimes in life such challenging circumstances are worth fighting for. The words "can't do it" could have devastating effects in years to come if we don't try to do something about it, in fact anything on a daily basis is worth fighting for and this is exactly what President Evo Morales has done, for his people in Bolivia.
Bolivia is moving forward rapidly for the good of everyone. It is a socialist country with a government fighting for equality. Even the highest, small house in the Altiplano has to have water, electricity, internet, free medical care and free education for their kids. Evo Morales has made it clear, no one living in Bolivia is forgotten and if they are, there a now thousand of government organisations set up, willing to help with free basic essentials, food, kitchen appliances, furniture's, clothes and dignified homes the government will design and build according to your own personal needs. The government believes everyone deserves to live a dignified life. All these benefits come from Bolivia's natural resources the government many years ago privatised, for the benefit of ordinary people, and then turned them into huge successful industries creating employment and businesses partnering with other huge organisations and clients around the world. Bolivia's rapid economy boom is crying out loud for a much larger demand to the Pacific Ocean. Bolivia has learnt over the years it was better not to rely fully on Chile to the Pacific Ocean just in case... in fact now as it stands, help is at hand from other neighbouring country's in South America. This means Bolivia can now freely progress , for now, partnering and working together with the idea of building positive and stronger relationships with other neighbouring countries, one such country is Peru, until one day Bolivia can gain a fair access to the Pacific Ocean through Chile.

Sea for Bolivia, even my cute dog innocently
feels Bolivia needs a fair access to the
Pacific Ocean. I just love this photo.
