Visiting Kentish Town City Farm...
Our family hasn't visited Kentish Town City Farm for a while. We've gone there many times over the years. In fact it goes back as far as my older kids were babies. I have many photos and memories of all my kids stroking cute baby goats, seeing pink fat little piglets sucking from Mummy pig and ridding ponies on a Sunday afternoon.
City Farm is situated in Kentish Town. It is a very small farm with just a few animals. They are all well cared by a few very committed animal loving volunteers. It's location is situated behind an small estate in between two main railway lines. In fact part of the farm is built right on top of an old railway tunnel. The tranquillity of the farm is often interrupted by roaring sounds of fast trains which doesn't seem to bother the animals at all. The farm is surrounded by wild plants, a small pond full of insects and living creatures, pretty flowers and trees. It is a small patch of nature in North West London which gives you the feel, just like being in the country side. It is definitely a small get away if you want to breathe farm air.
Today I decided to take my two youngest kids to the farm. It was a beautiful afternoon and I thought there were a few good reasons why we wanted to go there. It was my day off from work and I just wanted to have fun catching up with the kids seeing farm animals. My thirteen year old daughter and I headed to school to pick up her little brother. We then went straight to the farm. We were all excited. We all just wanted to see what animals were waiting for us. We all enjoyed stroking cute goats, a noisy friendly cow, a fat pig making a lot eating noises with its mouth open, noisy geese's and two cute brown donkeys we all fell in love with.
"I wish my best friend was here," my daughter said. "She loves donkeys just like me."
"Why don't you take some pictures and send them to her?"
"I will."
CONCLUSION...
We all enjoyed Kentish Town City Farm this afternoon. We were there at least a couple of hours. It definitely won't be our last visit. The farm this afternoon had pony rides.
