Back to school and baking...

Munequita baked two little love hearts of us with our happy faces.

School has started and so far the kids are slowly getting back into the swing of getting up early. It's never easy on a cold and dark January day. Last Thursday the 4th (only now I'm able to catch up on my blog because of my busy schedule) Tim and his older brother were the first ones to go back to school. My thirteen year old daughter began the following day Friday. Tim didn't wanted to go to school and tried his hardest to kick up a fuss. He felt it wasn't fair his sister had one more day at home.
On that morning we were all slowly moving around the house, forcing our tired bodies to do things. I thought I had everything organised the night before. Well, not really. Tim's socks were missing. Where did he leave them the night before? Frustration was running high because it was his only clean matching pair he had................... Eventually he found them, inside out and chucked underneath the kitchen table. No longer I was pacing up and down the stairs looking for Tim's socks.  Gradually we slowed down back to normality, as we both continued to get ready to leave the door.
Tim I don't want to go through this again. Will buy new socks over the weekend.
Lots of them Mummy.
First put you're socks on before you loose them again.
I need to brush my teeth first.
What did Mummy say just now?
I will.
Will what? Tim you didn't answer my question properly.
Sorry. What did you say?
Mummy said, put you socks on before you loose them again.
Where are they?
They're on the table.
Tim picked up his socks and sat on the stairs to put them on.
You should put you're shoes on. They're just behind you.
Where?
Behind you.
Oh, thanks.
John noisily came down stairs.
John, you have five minutes to leave the door.
What have you been doing upstairs?
Non of you business lil bruv!
Shut up! You rude boy.
Hey both of you. John! Out of the door now! You're going to be late. Tim go upstairs!
I've brushed my teeth.
Have you? Let me smell your breath.
CHEEEEESE...
And again. Give me the biggest cheesy smile you can.
CHEESEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE...
Mmm... Yes you have. Well done.
Mummy it isn't fair.
What's not fair.
I don't want to go to school. It's to cold.
You'll be fine, once we're all out.
Mummy, I'm going to miss you.
I'm going to miss you too. Hug?
Mummy's warm hugs had boosted Tim's morale. His little face brightly lit up as we made our way to school.
I thought maybe, after school, you'll like to bake.
The snowman box, Aunty M. gave me.
Yes.
I'll be baking with your sister while you're at school.
Can I make a ginger bread man instead?
Off course you can.
Yay! I can't wait.
I can't wait to try one of your ginger biscuits. Oh!... I suppose a couple of them won't hurt... Are you ready? Let's go...
I know what you're going to say. Let's go
No. We're not going on a bear hunt. We're going to school instead.

After school Tim was busy baking... Well it didn't go accordingly to plan.

He ended up not baking a snowman ginger biscuit, instead it was a
gingerbread man and a ginger scary alien.

He was a big gingerbread man who slowly got eaten by...

By Tim. The taste was just right.

Munequita had fun baking at home with Mummy.
