The flu. Still around...

Yesterday my boy woke up to another day of illness. He was crying because his tummy was hurting. His  head was hurting. His throat was hurting and he had a very bad cough.  Every time he coughed his chest made a noise. It was definitely a very bad infection and there was nothing I could do to make him better, but love him and be there for him. It wasn't nice to see him sad and fed up. There isn't such thing like a magic little wand... except I rang my Doctor on Friday, for some advice because I was concerned about his chest. She said the flu is going around and sometimes it can last up to five days.
"Don't worry. It's all part of the flu. If he doesn't eat, drink or is vomiting all the time or gets red blotches all over his body or can't breathe, ring 111 or take him straight to hospital. You're doing the right thing giving him plenty of fluids and medicine."
"Thank you."
Her advice was comforting.
I knew it was another day stuck in doors . My boy didn't have the energy to get up. "Poor boy," I thought to myself.
"How about getting up. You'll feel better?"
He was burning. He definitely had a temperature.
"No, no, no, no. My head huts. I feel dizzy. I'm cold."
"Let me put your pyjamas on."
"No, I don't want them. It's too hot."
"At least try. You'll need to pop to the toilet."
"I can't."
"You'll feel better once you're up. It's just here."
He did eventually. With a lot of prompting.
"How about downstairs for breakfast?"
"I can't."
"In that case you need to go back to bed"
"I don't want too. It's too hot. My head hurts," he said as he flopped onto his brother's chair.
"I'll be up with the water and medicine"
A few minutes later...
"No, no. I don't want it."
"You have too if you want to get better."
"Yuck!"
"Good boy. No more, hopefully... We'll see how you feel, after breakfast"
UPDATE
My 10 year old boy had 10 mml of liquid paracetamol. He was determined he didn't wanted to go back to bed. Eventually, slowly he made his way downstairs as he crawled into the kitchen. He just about managed a bowl of cereal with soya milk and a cup of soya milk on it's own. He then quietly rested on my sofa with our dog, until he slowly fell asleep with another glass of water and 10mml of Ibuprofen.
A few hours later he woke up next to our dog feeling much better. His energy was back as he played  a few tunes on his keyboard as his smile slowly came back.
