THOSE SAD, ANGRY AND HAPPY FACES. WHICH ONE IS YOU?

Look what I found in Poundland. Only £1. You could do a lot with these.
Assorted colourful face stickers. Have you ever had a feeling of mix emotions running high in a very short period of time?
It took me a while to sort them out. There are more happy faces than sad ones.
This is me smiling like the pink little sticker :) As long as I am smiling, everyone is smiling :) :) :) I hope my own contagious, cheeky smile rubs off on my own children, and they smile too. Smiling defines happiness. Feeling positive towards others and life in general creates happiness and tons of smiles.
While my boy was at school, I had an opportunity to put my feet up. I tried not to worry about all his unhappiness at school. Instead I used my own energy to focus on myself.
Before picking up Tim and Munequita from school, I couldn't resist choosing my own little smiley face. I stuck it on my cardigan as a reminder to myself, Irene, you need to smile at all times, even during challenging moments at home and outside. "Mmm... Let's see how it goes." I thought. I wore my happy sticker to encourage Tim to be more positive and happy about school. "He's definitely not a happy little boy when he comes through the door." I thought. I stuck my happy face on my cardigan, with the idea to keep smiling and bring happiness to Tim's sad little face.
It isn't always a smile :( :( :( Who knows what my happy face could turn into? It could be a sad one next, who knows. Earlier my sad face took over my smiley face. Thankfully it wasn't long before I managed to retrieve my smiley face back again .It wasn't nice to see my own daughter feeling sad. Muneca is going through a rough patch. It isn't fair. Life sucks. This is one example how our own emotions can rapidly change for the worst, because of life circumstances.
So how do we learn to manage our own emotions in the best possible way under difficult circumstances? This is one great learning curve I've managed to control under difficult circumstances. It took me many years to learn how to regulate my own personal emotions and this is one important lesson to teach children how to manage their own emotions through tough times. Each day creates new life experiences, whether they are good or bad, or whether it happens at home or out.
It is important to learn how to find ways to regulate your own emotions.
Tim came back from school. My face couldn't stop smiling seeing my little boy come back from school, and so was my sticker on my jumper smiling together with me. Tim's sad little face beamed with excitement to see Mummy again, as he curiously asked about my smiley sticker.
"Do you like it?"
"I do Mummy."
"I love this smiley face sticker because it makes me feel happy. Would you like a smiley sticker like Mummy's?" I said, as I showed him the bag of smiley faces.
"Look at all those sad, angry and happy faces. Which one is you?"
Tim picked up a blue little sad face and stuck it on his sweater.
"What a sad little face. Why did you pick him up?"
"I picked this sticker, because I had a sad day at school," said Tim.
"What happened at school?" I said.
He immediately opened up about his school day.
"Tim, I'm so happy and proud of you, to share about your own feelings. So are you still a sad face?"
"No Mummy. Now I'm feeling... "
Timmy pull out a happy face sticker and stuck it on top of his sad sticker. He was smiling again.
Both smiling while reading a book together after supper.

IT WAS A QUIET "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY" IN ISOLATION 2020...

Home made mini pancakes specially prepared by Munequita and Tim. Couldn't stop admiring these pretty flowers. They were given to me by my kids. Saturday, 21st of March... My initial plan was to travel to work by car. I was pleased to know as always there is no congestion charge on Sundays. Anything to avoid public transport, now that paranoia had kicked in because of the coronavirus. Sunday, 22nd of March... This morning I got a call informing I no longer need to come into work. I'm not surprised, judging how fast this Coronavirus is rapidly spreading and how bad it has affected my work.  My message to everyone,  STAY SAFE INDOORS .   Until yesterday my thoughts were all over the place, still reflecting on so many events which led to the closure of my work and how this coronavirus has put a lot of fear in all off us. Money is another big issue, however this is another matter which is slowly been sorted. I must not stress myself over it. Thankfully

Tim's Sensory Overload, Too Much Noise...

In fact, the more I read about Tim's sensory overload and the way he feels about the world outside, I can now finally understand why he was constantly having meltdowns or stimming, particularly when he found himself, in confined crowded places and noise. Tim's extreme and unusual behaviour, is clearly seen like a coping mechanism, in order to block out excess sensory input. Tim went up and immediately came down stairs because there were no empty seats on the top deck of our bus. Downstairs was crowded and upstairs every single seat was taken, except one last seat right at the back and one next to the stairs near the front. "No seats Mummy," he said. It was visible to see how Tim's phobia to noise and confined places was beginning to affect him when he found himself in a place he didn't feel comfortable and out of character. Tim's frustration was beginning to show. I quickly went upstairs and saw a couple of empty seats. "Easy," I thoug

The Water Bottle...

I sat in front of my locker as I quietly contemplated about my future surrounding my career in the hospitality business and the future of our beloved hotel.   Covid-19 was about to strike in the most deadliest way. The thought of it left shivers down my spine. Flights were beginning to be cancelled and China had completely closed it's borders. It wasn't looking  good for any of us. Our careers in the hospitality business was hanging by a thread and financially it was a complete disaster for all of us. Eight weeks ago none off us knew what was going to happen. Our hotel was suddenly closing down. I love my guests to much and I will miss them tremendously. I love everything about my hotel with the best views over the River Thames and I love the people I work with. We are a great team and soon we will all be going our different ways... "Well for now, let's see how it will all unfold," I thought as I slowly stretched out to one side to pick up my water bottle. I wa
